Emergency Management Psychologist PAR Foundation Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States
As COVID began to ravage our planet, unique service populations were being pulled into service. COVID Workers in Public Health, Public Information Officers, Chaplains, and later Long COVID Patients are among the special groups that were afforded weekly peer support group meetings via Zoom due to the unique stressors each encountered as never before. We tactfully selected key aspects of other group protocols to combine to offer this unique group experience to provide peer support, encouragement, coping, rumor control, and hope on a weekly basis. We always addressed any emergent issues/topics that participants had on their minds. Facilitators were peers and experienced group mental health professionals.
