This presentation offers practical skills to those tasked with delivering death notifications. Through didactic and interactive multi-media and group participation, attendees will develop better understanding of, and confidence in working with, those who have experienced a loss. This workshop will address the essential elements of an effective, compassionate death notification. Participants will have the opportunity to review suggested language to utilize while delivering a death notification as well as a chance to develop some verbiage of their own. Participants will leave with greater confidence and ability to accomplish death notification as well as with strategies to help them care for themselves during and following a difficult notification.
