Director of Wellness Initiatives Marion County Sheriff's Office (Indianapolis, IN) Indianapolis, Indiana, United States
The words “toxic wellness” may sound like an oxymoron, but as organizations scramble to provide wellness programming to their employees amidst the rapidly growing wellness industry, the impact of some wellness offerings can hurt more than they help. In this program, we’ll explore the definition and key traits of “toxic wellness” and why it can be harmful to employees (especially those who are at-risk). We’ll also look at three aspects to creating a true wellness culture in organizations, and provide a lens that can be used to help select wellness companies, organizations and products that support equitable and accessible wellness offerings for personnel.
