GS V-2 - Expanding the MESH of staff support: An interdisciplinary collaborative

The presentation describes the creation of a mental, emotional, and spiritual help (MESH) collaborative in a large hospital to accommodate the dramatically expanded need to support healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. To address comprehensive aspects of support for healthcare personnel during the initial and ongoing phases of the pandemic response, the Resilience In Stressful Events (RISE) team partnered with the Office of Wellbeing, the Spiritual Care department, the Psychiatry experts and our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This collaboration was identified as crucial in the first few months of the pandemic and continues today as the coordinated efforts of these vital resources have a great impact on the Johns Hopkins community.
